Employee Spotlight: Energy, Ambition and Drive

In this edition of our Employee Spotlight series, we catch up with Oscar McEntee, who joined Brady Solicitors as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and has already made a significant impact in his first few months with the business. .

Drawn to the Challenge of Professional Services

For Oscar, the opportunity to work in a commercially focused professional services environment was a key reason for joining Brady Solicitors.

Reflecting on his first impressions of the business, Oscar was quick to recognise the supportive culture that exists across the firm.

“In my first few weeks, I found that there was real support to allow each colleague to work in a way that mirrored their natural abilities. I quickly felt that I would be supported as an individual, which made a huge difference when settling into the role.”

This people-first approach has enabled Oscar to develop confidence quickly while bringing his own strengths and personality to the team.

Making an Impact from Day One

As an SDR, Oscar acts as the first point of communication for many prospective clients.

His role involves identifying organisations that could benefit from Brady Solicitors’ expertise, building relationships, and helping potential clients understand how the firm can support them with arrears recovery and legal services.

“My day consists of reaching out to new clients to outline how Brady’s can help them with their arrears situation. It’s my job to identify prospects before making contact and work towards ensuring we can become their ideal legal partner.”

Although new starters are not expected to hit targets immediately, Oscar set his own standards from the outset.

“Being new, I had no targets to hit for the first three months, but being me, I wanted to achieve them regardless. Bringing in my first client within my first month was a really exciting milestone.”

His determination and self-motivation have helped him establish a strong foundation for future success.

A Culture Built on Shared Success

When asked to describe the culture at Brady Solicitors, Oscar chose the word unique.

He highlights the diversity of personalities across the business and the way colleagues work together to achieve shared goals.

“It feels like there are lots of big characters who have all found a way to support one another, work together and help each other succeed. Any success feels shared.”

For Oscar, one of the most rewarding parts of working at Brady Solicitors has been the encouragement he receives from those around him.

“I most enjoy celebrating success with my team. Everyone is quick to congratulate and support each other. It creates an environment where you feel comfortable being successful and confident in your abilities.”

Growing through Challenge

Like any new role, the first few months have come with challenges.

Oscar’s biggest learning curve has been adapting his sales approach to suit the wide variety of clients and organisations he engages with.

“With the variation in characteristics of the clients we work with, I’ve had to quickly adapt and constantly review my approach.”

Fortunately, he has been able to draw on the experience of his colleagues to accelerate his development.

“I’ve overcome this by learning from the varied styles and approaches of the people around me. There’s always something new to learn from the team.”

Advice for New Starters

Having recently experienced the onboarding process himself, Oscar has simple but valuable advice for anyone considering a career at Brady Solicitors.

“Just talk to everyone whenever you need anything. The senior CRMs are fountains of knowledge and are always willing to break down complex situations into understandable tips and strategies.”

It is this openness and willingness to support one another that continues to make Brady Solicitors a great place to learn, develop and build a successful career.

Looking to the Future

Oscar’s ambitions extend beyond his current role, and he is excited by the opportunities that lie ahead.

“I’m excited to expand on my role and demonstrate how my abilities and passions can contribute to different areas of the business.”

Long term, he hopes to broaden his involvement across the firm’s commercial activities, helping shape strategy and support future growth.

“I see my role evolving into one that encompasses wider commercial activity, working on projects that require strategic thinking and long-term forecasting.”

His primary focus remains developing a deeper understanding of the business from every angle.

“I want to understand and impact all areas of the business from a commercial standpoint, from the macro level right down to the detail.”

Energy, Discipline and Drive

When asked to describe Brady Solicitors in three words, Oscar didn’t hesitate:

Energy. Discipline. Drive.

Those same qualities are evident in Oscar’s own approach to his career and have already helped him make a positive impact during his first few months with the firm.
